Welcome to the Foxholes and Butterwick Parish Council Website.

The next Parish Council Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 15th May 2024, at 7:30pm and will be held in the Foxholes Community Hall. The meeting will start with the Annual Parish Meeting, followed by the Annual General meeting and finishing off with the ordinary business. All meetings are open to the public.

Vacancy for the Parish Council

We are currently looking for new members of the public to join the Foxholes with Butterwick Parish Council.

What does the Parish Council do?

Parish councils discuss and make decisions on issues that affect the local community. Probably the most common topics that parish councils get involved with are planning matters (they are statutory consultees), and issues regarding roads & highways.

Foxholes with Butterwick Parish Council has been instrumental in reducing the speed limit through Foxholes from 40 mph to 30 mph, and helped to obtain the flashing “30 mph” speed limit signs at the north and south end of the village. We have helped to provide village “Welcome” signs, defibrillators in both Foxholes and Butterwick, benches, trees, notice boards, flower planters and dog waste bins. We also liaise with the appropriate authorities regarding traffic problems, street repairs and drainage, grass cutting and we have recently upgraded the street lighting to more efficient LED lighting.

  • Would you like to be a part of your local parish council?

  • Would you like to help support your local community and have a say in local matters?

We are looking for new members to join the Parish Council and would particularly welcome anyone from the Butterwick area to join us. If you are over 18 and on the electoral role, live or work in the parish, you may be eligible to become a member of the Parish Council.

Our meetings are held 6 times a year, usually bi-monthly, in the “Library and Meeting Room” at the Foxholes Community Hall.

If you would like to apply or would like more information, please contact Chris Adnitt, Parish Clerk, on 01723 513949.

Your views count, please consider joining us.

We look forward to hearing from you.
